About the project

Echoes of Us is an immersive audio trail set in the Winstanley and York Road Estates, co-created with local residence.

These audio recordings, accessible via QR codes placed at significant locations, invite you to listen to the stories and tales that make up the community's heritage.

There are two ways to experience Echoes of Us: Visitors can join a guided walk (Pay What You Can), walking together as a group and concluding with a Q&A session hosted by the makers. Alternatively, the trail can be explored independently and for free, by visiting the locations and scanning the QR codes.

The project highlights the voices of residents whose memories span decades, offering insights into the area's history. Each recording sheds light on moments of connection, resilience, and transformation, creating a tapestry of narratives that reflects the identity of the neighbourhood. Echoes of Us celebrates the rich history embedded in the area, offering a meaningful way to connect with the neighbourhood through the voices of those who know it best.

Echoes of Us is supported by Arts Council England, Wandsworth Art Fringe, Wandsworth Heritage Service and the Katherine-Low Settlement
